Lützelhof: A journey through tradition, nature and hospitality

The Lützelhof is an adventure farm in urban Pfäffikon SZ, which has undergone a fascinating history and impressive development. Located above Lake Zurich, the farm was founded by Benno Dillier’s parents in 1992 and has undergone a remarkable transformation since then.

The name “Lützelhof” is derived from Latin, where “Lützel” means “small”. This name is not due to the size of the farm, but to the fact that it is located in the immediate vicinity of a small island in Lake Pfäffikon.

“There’s nothing better than looking after the cows alone on a Sunday morning without a cell phone.”

Pioneers of country life: “Sleeping on straw” and the August 1st brunch

The Lützelhof was one of the first farms in Central Switzerland to join the “Sleeping on Straw” project. They were involved in the pilot project right from the start, and this unique experience has made the farm a popular destination for adventure-seeking tourists. In addition to “Sleeping on Straw”, they have also been actively involved since the first year in the August 1st brunch, where they serve delicious regional special-ties.

Beno takes the helm: tourism and tradition

In 2007, Benno took over the farm from his parents with his wife Karin and two children and began to fur-ther develop the tourism sector, in particular “sleeping on straw” and the organization of events, including weddings and events for up to 200 people. Despite his busy lifestyle, farming and animals remain the top priority in his life. He is a dairy farmer with heart and soul and inherited this passion from his parents.

Not only tourists, but also the inhabitants of the municipality of Pfäffikon appreciate the Lützelhof as a place to relax. The green fields and peaceful surroundings offer a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Visitors can shop sustainably and consciously in the Lützelhof farm store. Here they will find fresh dairy products and regional specialties that reflect the hard work and dedication of the Dillier family.

The soul of the farmer: Beno and his love of nature

One of Benno’s specialties is his love of nature. What he enjoys most is going to the cows alone in the early morning without a cell phone to look after them. He also enjoys working in the flower field, as he appreci-ates the joy of giving flowers to customers and feels very free in this work.
